THE MALL OF ASIA

The SM Mall of Asia is a shopping mall that opened on May 21, 2006 (originally on August 30, 2005) and is the Philippines' largest mall, toppling its cousin, SM Megamall, and the third biggest mall in the world in terms of gross floor size. It is owned and operated by SM Prime Holdings, under the management of Henry Sy, a Filipino-Chinese business tycoon — regarded as one of the wealthiest men in Asia.

The Mall of Asia was constructed within the reclaimed lands west of Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City, aptly nicknamed "Bay City". It is built on 19.5 hectares of reclaimed land and has a gross floor area of 381,075 square meters. The mall is located at the southmost tip of EDSA (Epifanio de los Santos Avenue). A rotunda was constructed in the front of the mall with a huge bronze globe similar to Universal Studios. An Esplanade or walkway was constructed at the back of the mall where it served as the observation center for the world's first pyrotechnics competition, the World Pyro Olympics in December 2005.

The mall consists of four (4) buildings interconnected by walkways: the Main Mall, Entertainment Mall, and the North and South Carpark Buildings. One of its unique features is a 20-seater tram to make it easier for shoppers to go around.

There will be two concierge desks—one in the Main Mall and another in the Entertainment Mall. Maps will be given out, and there will be signs aplenty.

The Main Mall will include shopping and dining establishments, the food court. The South Parking building will house the SM Department store and half of the 5,000 parking spaces while the North Parking building will include the SM Hypermarket, a spacious office space and more dining areas.

The mall’s newest attraction is the Pacifica Entertainment Plaza. Besides bowling and billiards facilities, the building will house 10 theaters, including a Director’s Club and the first ever IMAX theater in the Philippines. The theater, named as the San Miguel Coca-Cola IMAX Theater would also have the largest screen in the Philippines at 22 x 30 meters, similar to the height of an eight-storey building.

The mall also features an Olympic sized skating rink and a science museum.

The mall also provides office space. Dell International Services, a subsidiary of Dell, Inc. occupies a 13,470.5-square meter area at the second floor of the north parking building of the mall.

it's pretty hard to write something without nothing to talk about.

you keep on guessing how to end, but you have no idea how to start.

then you try to look back on memories as early as a few minutes ago, or just waiting for a blast from the past.

but you can't seem to decide whether you want to tell the time when you fell on a flight of steps, the day you won a marathon or the time you got dumped for no one.

it is still not enough though.

you try to figure out if you want to narrate what happened, describe the moment or just don't tell about it.

then you're back from the start.

you find yourself writing about nothing and how you figured out how to do it.

you laugh at yourself.

then you begin to think about all the memories.

and remember the time you got dumped.

but you just want to keep it all for yourself and decided to write about nothing.

you laugh at yourself once more, but tears trickle at the corner of your eye.

you decided that this is enough.

you have managed to write about nothing.

when life tries to kick you off its tracks, you start to think whether going back is worth your while..
you begin to wonder if you should take a diffrent route, or just continue going on your
same path, despite the bumps and bruises.

you begin to realize that life is horrible, that its main purpose is to extricate your existence.

what is life you may ask.. well, beyond that biological mumbo jumbo of you being composed
of cells.. or what our faith considers as a soul; you see from your own expreinces that you now
have a personal and unique take on life.. that its more than just a bundle of cells and a soul.

life is not how it treats us, but its how we see it to be.

its how we have caused it to be. and i admit that life is not our masterpiece, we have
our parents to thank for that. life is our reason to discover why we are composed of
cells, or why we have a soul.

because we already have life to begin with.
